Our Executive Committee met on the last day of July, this time on Zoom. Participants included committee members and three of our national coordinators.
Recently the committee has been strengthened by younger representatives from both the Anglican and Lutheran Churches. This is encouraging and vital for the ongoing work of our society. The committee is responding to feedback gained from the participants in the Edinburgh Conference. Some members of the Society feel isolated and would like to feel more engaged. So it was decided that each committee member will seek to establish personal contact with members in their own region or country, thereby strengthening the society’s membership base. Another step forward was the appointment of a Social Media Officer. The Rev Martin Steele, Dean’s Vicar of Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, in Cork, Ireland, has agreed to take on the role with support from a small group of committee members. So going forward, we hope to have a clearer presence on key social media platforms, with consistent and coordinated communication. Upcoming events include our Annual Meeting in London on 7th March 2026, and our next International Conference to be held in Hamburg, Germany, from 11th to 15th September 2026. The theme of the conference is “Changing Church – Changing World.”
