Our two-yearly conference for 2026 will look at changes in today’s world, and the roles that the Churches — especially Anglican and Lutheran — are taking in serving and shaping the culture of our countries.
We shall learn from the direct experience of local churches and national and international leaders. How are changing needs being met, and how is global ecumenism playing its part? What do identities of nationhood and language mean for people who are on the move and finding new homes?
Hamburg, the setting for our conference, has a particular significance, since it has been a focal point for trade and the movement of peoples for centuries. Sunday worship will be in one of Hamburg’s historic churches, and there will be an opportunity for visits that give a flavour of the city’s character.
Our conference venue is St Ansgar-Haus in the old city centre. The full conference fee will include accommodation in the venue, but there will be a reduced conference fee for those who wish to arrange their own accommodation and meals.
We look forward to welcoming you to Hamburg next September. We shall be sending further details and a booking form to all Anglican-Lutheran Society members and they will soon be available here.
